Finding the orienteering event is sometimes half the fun. We provide general directions to all events and set out small orange and white directional signs to point you to the start. But if you haven't been to a particular park before, we recommend that you select your route before leaving home.

Bear Creek Nature Center
Bert Adams Scout Reservation
From Atlanta, take I-20 East to Exit 88, Porterdale. Turn right at the top of the ramp. Follow Almon Rd. (becomes Crowell Rd., then Rt. 653) South for 5.8 miles. Turn right onto Flat Shoals Rd and follow Flat Shoals 3.4 miles to Rt. 36. Turn right and travel south for 3.1 miles. Turn right on Boy Scout Road. The Camp entrance is .4 mile on the right.
Chattahoochee Bend State Park
From I-85 North or South near Newnan, take Exit 47 Hwy. 34 (Bullsboro Blvd.). Go west 0.8 miles. Turn right onto Hwy. 34 Bypass (M Farmer Industrial Blvd.) and go 6 miles. Turn right onto Hwy. 34 (Franklin Road) at 4-way stop and go 8.2 miles. Turn right onto Thomas Powers Road and go 2.7 miles to a 4-way stop. The road name changes to Hewlett South Road. Continue straight 0.9 miles. Continue straight onto Bud Davis Road and go 1.9 miles. Turn right onto Flat Rock Road. The road name changes to Bobwhite Way. Continue straight to gated entrance of the park.
Cochran Mill Park (Fulton County)
South on I-85 to exit 16/Spur 14 (Near Atlanta Airport). South on South Fulton Parkway approx 14 miles. Turn right on Cochran Mill Road. Park entrance is on the left. Follow signs.
Dauset Trails Nature Center
South on I-75 to exit 198, High Falls Rd. Turn left and go 4.7 miles & turn right onto Mt Vernon Church Rd. Nature Center entrance is 3.2 miles on left.
Don Carter State Park
From Atlanta: I-85 north, I-985 north, exit 24, left on GA 129 N, 0.6 miles to right on GA 129 N, 1.6 miles to right on GA 284 N/Clarks Bridge Road, 6.2 miles to right on N Browning Bridge Road, 1.3 miles to slight left on N Browning Bridge Road, 0.6 miles to park.
Fort Yargo State Park
From Atlanta, take I-85 North to GA Hwy 316 East and go approx. 21 miles to GA Hwy 81. Go North on Hwy 81 for approx. 3 miles to park entrance on right.
F. D. Roosevelt State Park
I-85 South to exit 21. South on I-185 to exit 42. Left on US 27 to Pine Mt., then left on GA 354 to the park.
Harbins Park
From Atlanta, take I85 North to GA316 (toward Athens), Harbins Rd south, Luke Edwards Rd to the park entrance.
Hard Labor Creek State Park
From Atlanta, take I-20 East to exit 105 and go North into Rutledge, then proceed straight on Fairplay Road for 1.2 miles.
Indian Springs State Park
South on I-75, take exit #205 to Jackson; proceed south on Ga. Hwy. 42 to the park.
Joe Kurz WMA
From Atlanta, South on I-75 to exit 237A, GA Hwy 85 (not I-85). Follow GA-85 South for approx. 40 miles to Gay, Georgia. Left at the only red light in Gay. Go 2.5 miles, then left into check in station.
McIntosh Reserve
From Atlanta, go west on I-20 to exit 34, then south on GA 5 to Whitesburg. Go 2 miles past Whitesburg, then turn left on W. McIntosh Circle.
Mistletoe State Park
From Atlanta, go east on I-20 to exit 175, then north on GA-150 for 8 miles, then left on Mistletoe Rd., 2.5miles to the park.
Moore's Bridge Park
From the traffic circle in Whitesburg (the intersection of GA5 and GA16), go north on GA 5 (the opposite direction from McIntosh Reserve) for about a mile and turn right on Black Dirt Road. The park will be down about a mile on the right. There is a sign at the entrance.
Oconee State Park, South Carolina
From Atlanta, take I-85 north into South Carolina. Take Exit 1 and head north on Hwy 11 for 20 miles. In Walhalla, turn left to merge onto SC-28W/Blue Ridge Blvd. In 9 miles take the slight right onto SC-107N. In 2.4 miles, turn right onto State Park Rd.
Panola Mountain State Park (Alexanders Lake)
From Atlanta, go east on I-20 and take exit 71 (Panola Rd), turn right. Turn left onto Snapfinger Rd (GA Hwy 155) and head south. Turn left on Alexanders Lake Rd just past the Panola Mtn State Park entrance and head east. Continue 1.9 miles to parking area at Flat Bridge Rd.
Red Top Mountain State Park
From Atlanta, go north on I-75 and take exit 285. Turn right onto Red Top Mtn Rd and follow into Park.
Richard B Russell State Park
From Atlanta, I-85 North to GA 316, in Athens take GA 10-loop to US 29 North (approx 10mi), turn right on GA 72 East toward Elberton (32mi). Turn left on GA 77 (North Oliver St), go 1.2mi and turn right onto Ruckersville Road. Russell State Park is 8 miles down on the right.
From the North: Take I-85 South. After crossing the South Carolina / Georgia state line, take the first Georgia exit (#177) onto GA 77. Follow GA 77 south approximately 30 miles to Elberton, then turn left onto Ruckersville Road. Russell State Park is 8 miles down on the right.
From the East: I-20 West to exit 172 (Hwy 78), follow Hwy 78 to Washington, turn North on Hwy 17, follow Hwy 17 to Elberton. In Elberton turn right on GA 77 (North Oliver St), go 1.2mi and turn right onto Ruckersville Road. Russell State Park is 8 miles down on the right.
Tugaloo State Park
From Atlanta, I-85 N to exit #173 north on Georgia 17; follow park signs to Gerrard Road, turn right. Go 1.5 miles to Ga. Hwy. 328 and turn left. Proceed 3.3 miles to park; entrance on right.
Sweetwater Creek State Park
From Atlanta, west on I-20 to exit 44. South on Thornton Rd. Right on Blairs Bridge Rd. Left on Mt Vernon. Follow signs to Park.
